Whoosh and Confluence
"It is easy to lose sight of the precariousness of our existence. Natural occurrences, like an unexpected comet streaking across the night sky or a flood that reshapes the land, remind us of this.
While sudden events such as comets are dramatic hints of the immensity of our world, our everyday and evolutionary survival still depends on navigating landscapes, finding pathways, water, passable passages, and shelter. Allowing our eyes to wander through a landscape taps into something primordial which resides deep in our brains. It is a place we don’t visit enough. Creating images of vast, dense landscapes takes time, allowing me to immerse myself in this state, and hopefully pass something of it to the viewer." Karin Daymond 2026
