Connected to Oltmann's Instar body of work, these lithographs continue Oltmann’s exploration of natural transformation and interconnectedness.  The prints link to his sculptures, crafted from intricately coiled aluminium wire, anodised gold, and black enamel, the works take the form of armour-like skins that merge human, insect, and plant characteristics. Their shell-like structures evoke cycles of moulting and renewal, while vivid colour and texture reference adaptive strategies in nature—camouflage, mimicry, and attraction. Through these hybrids, Oltmann dissolves boundaries between species, inviting reflection on regeneration, interdependence, and the shared vitality of living forms.
